Lukas Seel is the Project Lead at xAlliance and works across ecosystem growth, strategy, and Web3 product initiatives. His experience spans NFT applications, nonprofit leadership, and blockchain-focused programs within multichain ecosystem development and accelerator design. ^[1]

Education

Seel attended Freie Universität Berlin, where he earned his BA in Philosophy. ^[2]

Career

Seel began his career as a freelance copywriter, writer, and translator in 2013, providing marketing, editing, and translation services for international clients. In 2015, he joined PluralArts International as Administrative Director, overseeing organizational operations, financial administration, compliance, contracts, and internal coordination. During this period, he also worked at the New York music venue Baby’s All Right, contributing to venue and event operations. In 2017, he was appointed Managing Director of PluralArts International, where he led strategy, operations, financial management, grant administration, human resources, governance, and partnerships for the international nonprofit organization. After stepping down from the role in 2021, he continued to advise the organization as a Senior Advisor beginning in 2022.

In 2019, Seel founded 13 1/2 Productions, an event production company that organized corporate and private events. He managed event planning, budgeting, logistics, vendor relations, staffing, and client engagement before the company ceased operations in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Beginning in 2022, he worked independently as a Web3 strategy and ecosystem advisor, supporting blockchain organizations and startups with strategy, operations, marketing, ecosystem development, and community initiatives across multiple blockchain networks.

Also in 2022, Seel co-founded On Chain Smokers, a venture focused on applying blockchain technology to loyalty programs, customer engagement systems, event ticketing, and related business applications. His responsibilities included product strategy, partnerships, user experience design, and go-to-market planning. In 2024, he joined Helios Staking as Strategic Development and Partnerships Lead, working on ecosystem initiatives, cross-chain collaboration programs, and partnership development, before transitioning to a Strategic Advisor role in 2025. That same year, he became Project Lead for xAlliance at MultiversX, where he has overseen ecosystem accelerator programs and contributed to strategy, operations, and ecosystem development initiatives within the MultiversX network. ^[3]

Building NFTs

At xDay2023 in December, Seel participated in a panel discussion titled “Building NFTs: A Creative Odyssey” alongside Pepiamin Pincu (PepeversX), Cristian Mageriu (Synth Legion), Robert Elekes (Dragons Arena), and Alexandru Păduraru (NFTim). The discussion focused on the evolving role of NFTs beyond speculative trading, with emphasis placed on utility-driven design, clearer value propositions, and more sustainable ecosystem development. Speakers noted that many early NFT projects suffered from perception issues due to hype cycles, and argued that clearer intent and functional use cases were necessary to build lasting engagement.

The panel covered a range of approaches to NFT implementation, including membership and loyalty systems, digital art communities, gaming integrations, and educational or tool-based access models. Seel emphasized the importance of timing and product validation, particularly launching NFTs in ways that demonstrate utility before scaling. Other participants highlighted the role of transparency, community-building, and interoperability across gaming and digital platforms. Overall, the panel converged on the view that the long-term success of NFTs depends on practical applications, meaningful user benefits, and ecosystem designs grounded in utility rather than speculation. ^[4]
