Effect.AI is a decentralized network and protocol that coordinates human work for AI-related tasks. As of October 26, 2026, its official site lists its Worker, Staking, and Migration interfaces as live. Its most recent detailed phase report covers Phase 5, published April 24, 2026, and its 2025 year-in-review describes multiple Alpha phases during 2025.[1][9][5] The current token is EFFECT on Solana.[7]
Effect.AI coordinates human work for AI-related tasks through a decentralized network and protocol. As of October 26, 2026, the official site lists its Worker, Staking, and Migration interfaces as live. Its most recent detailed phase report covers Phase 5, published April 24, 2026, and its 2025 year-in-review describes multiple Alpha phases during 2025; these reports describe Alpha activity rather than an unrestricted production network.[1][9][5] The current ecosystem token is EFFECT, a Solana SPL token.[7]
The protocol documentation describes a task workflow in which Providers define tasks and fund escrow, and Manager nodes delegate tasks to eligible Worker nodes over peer-to-peer connections. Workers complete tasks and return results to managers, which validate them against application rules. Accepted work is paid through on-chain settlement; the documentation describes batched settlement using zero-knowledge rollups.[12][13]
YES!Delft lists Effect Network as founded in 2015 and names Chris Dawe, Jesse Eisses, Laurens Verspeek, and Sam Spall as its founders. A January 12, 2018 project announcement describes Effect.AI as an Amsterdam-based company founded in 2015.[14][15]
Effect.AI first launched a dApp on the NEO blockchain in late 2017. The project’s main online marketplaces, Effect Force, which connect artificial intelligence developers to paid contributors, launched in beta mode at the end of June 2018.[3]
The project’s early aim was to give businesses access to distributed human microtasking for data annotation and other AI-related tasks. Its contemporary description of TEN was a technology stack of smart contracts and algorithms for building AI services on the network. Effect Force supplied the human microtasking component.[2][16]
An EOSIO profile published March 19, 2019 reported more than two million annotations over the preceding 18 months, covering natural language processing and computer-vision tasks.[16]
Effect.AI reported a 10-week Effect Force Impact Hub pilot in Rustavi, Georgia, involving 12 young participants from December 14 through March 1. It said Chris Dawe and Sam Spall presented the pilot results and hub vision to 10 UN representatives.[17] Contemporaneous independent coverage described the planned UN-linked social-impact hub in Rustavi, where workers would receive Effect Force training and workstations.[18]
In July 2018, Effect.AI and Quadrant announced a partnership to annotate satellite imagery of Singapore for Quadrant’s location-data project, which was intended to provide services to the Government of Singapore. The work formed part of DataStreamX’s existing relationship with the Government’s IMDA.[19][16]
In February 2019, Effect.AI announced plans to migrate onto EOS.IO, having previously been hosted on the NEO blockchain. Effect.AI fully migrated operations and EFX tokens over onto EOS.IO at the end of April 2019. On April 30, 2019, Effect.AI opened its token swap for token holders to swap their tokens from NEO to EOS; over 1,000 swaps were made within the first 24 hours and over 80 million EFX tokens swapped in total.[4]
On September 4, 2024, the Effect DAO and team discussed prioritizing a full migration to Solana. Changed EOS tokenomics had made EOS RAM costs for Effect Force expensive, while optimizing Effect Force EOS v2 required too much manpower, making continued work on EOS less practical.[6]
On January 1, 2025, Effect took a snapshot of EFX on EOS and BSC and NFX on EOS, consolidating those legacy tokens into EFFECT on Solana. Holders could claim EFFECT beginning January 5, 2025, and trading was scheduled to begin January 10, 2025. The conversion terms were 1:1 for EFX and 1:8 for NFX. Claimed tokens were automatically staked, with a seven-day lock followed by a 30-day linear release. EFX and NFX were deprecated after the consolidation.[7][8]
The EFFECT SPL token on Solana has a documented total supply of 520 million. The token documentation describes EFFECT as incentivizing network participation and supporting participant honesty and quality. The current site describes workers as earning EFFECT and staking as supporting network security and rewards.[7][1]
The documentation’s initial allocation schedule assigns 185 million EFFECT (36%) to EFX holders, 60 million (12%) to NFX holders, 50 million (10%) to staking incentives, 49 million (9%) to the DAO treasury, 68 million (13%) to liquidity, partnerships, and marketing, 100 million (19%) to the development fund, and 6 million (1%) to the migration reserve.[7]
These listed amounts total 518 million EFFECT, 2 million below the stated total supply of 520 million.[7][13]
Effect.AI ran multiple Alpha phases during 2025 and continued through at least Phase 5, using real task workflows and payments on Solana. Its 2025 summary described testing task execution, validation, payment flows, onboarding, and worker experience, and work supporting public datasets including Mozilla Common Voice.[5]
In its April 24, 2026 Phase 5 report, Effect.AI reported 100+ workers onboarded, 81,000+ tasks completed in Phase 5, and over 1.26 million EFFECT paid across phases. Work included Mozilla Common Voice data and the Novela recording dataset, which pairs human-read recordings with sentences.[9]
In its April 24, 2026 Phase 5 report, Effect.AI said it found and patched a vulnerability in the payment pipeline, paused tasks during the investigation, resumed them after the fix, and preserved worker balances. The report also described Manager Node instability and attempts to circumvent the payment pipeline, as well as safeguards and continued monitoring.[9]
On October 21, 2026, VibeCheck became available in the Canva Apps Marketplace. Canva users can request human feedback on clickability, clarity, or comparisons between design versions and receive written feedback in the app.[10]
Effect.AI’s developer API guide, published October 6, 2026, describes custom HTML task templates, CSV-based jobs, and downloadable results.[11]
