[7]
Rangar graduated from McGill University with a BA in Political Science and Economics in 1993; he also attended the University of Vienna, where he earned a diploma in International Relations and German Language. He later earned his MSJ from Columbia University in 1997. [2]
Rangar began his career as a Producer at Channel V / Star TV from 1994 to 1995. From 1997 to 2000, he worked at Bloomberg LP in its Internet and Technology division in Europe. In October 2000, he became Managing Director at Quartz Capital and Knight Securities, where he worked until April 2001. He then joined Ariadne Capital as Chief Operating Officer in March 2001 and served until September 2005. In September 2005, Rangar became Chairman of IndusView Ltd, a position he continues to hold. From 2009 to 2015, he also served as Chairman of Rangar Capital Management. He chaired NanoStruck Technologies Inc. from 2013 to 2014 and became CEO of Fineqia in April 2013, a role he still holds. In June 2014, he founded PremFina, where he serves as President. In January 2025, Rangar co-founded STBL and served as its Chief Executive Officer until September 2025, focusing on stablecoin infrastructure. In September 2025, he transitioned to Co-Founder and Board Member, a role he still holds. [3]
In a March 2026 interview on the International Investment Forum, Rangar discussed the implications of the U.S. Bitcoin reserve, noting that it lent legitimacy to Bitcoin but did not establish a broader commitment to purchasing it. He explained how stablecoins could support the U.S. dollar’s international role by increasing demand for U.S. Treasuries and explored how tokenized real estate could make property investments more accessible and easier to trade. He also discussed the potential for AI agents to manage investment portfolios and conduct transactions using blockchain-based assets. Rangar criticized Canada’s approach to financial and cryptocurrency policy, arguing that slow policy development and concentrated financial power had limited its progress, and predicted closer integration between cryptocurrency and traditional finance through payments, mortgages, and tokenized assets. He also addressed market-cycle and regulatory risks, discussed Fineqia’s focus on tokenization and exchange-traded products, and observed that cryptocurrency was increasingly becoming part of government policy, institutional balance sheets, and real-world financial transactions, although the pace and distribution of adoption remained uncertain. [5]

In an April 2024 episode of the Paradigm podcast with Entrepreneur ME, Rangar discussed how his experiences in India, Canada, London, and the UAE influenced his international approach to business and his interest in challenging established systems. He explained how he founded PremFina, a company that allows customers to pay insurance premiums in installments, and discussed its technology platform, loan performance, and international investment backing. He also explored opportunities to connect insurance receivables with tokenized real-world assets and develop yield-generating digital asset products through cross-industry partnerships. Rangar described the role of persistence in entrepreneurship, drawing on examples of unconventional cross-border deals, and outlined his “ACT” approach to building business relationships: gaining access to relevant people, communicating ideas from a fresh perspective, and converting connections into transactions. He also discussed how technology could broaden access to ideas, professional networks, and capital, potentially making business opportunities more accessible across geographic boundaries. [4]
