Ying Chan is a London-based technologist and entrepreneur, credited as the co‑founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of The Innovation Game. He is described as an Imperial College London alumnus and as an inventor with more than 15 patents spanning blockchain and machine learning, and he is noted for the OP_PUSHTX technique associated with demonstrating Bitcoin’s smart contract capabilities. Ying Chang earned a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science, with a focus on Machine Learning, from Imperial College London between 2015 and 2016. Prior to this, he completed a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Systems Engineering at the University of Queensland from 2011 to 2012. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), obtained between 2007 and 2010. [2]
Ying Chang has worked across machine learning, engineering, and cryptographic systems. Since 2022, he has served as Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at The Innovation Game, based in Cambridge, where he contributes to the platform’s technical architecture and development. Prior to this, he co-founded Cambridge Cryptographic and held the role of CTO from 2020 to 2022.
Earlier in his career, Chang worked at FiveAI, where he held positions as a machine learning engineer and later as team lead for the machine learning pipeline between 2017 and 2020. Before that, he was a research and development specialist at nChain from 2016 to 2017, focusing on blockchain-related technologies.
He began his professional career as an electrical and instrumentation engineer at WorleyParsons from 2013 to 2015, working on engineering projects in Australia. [1] [2]
