Plume Chain is a modular blockchain infrastructure designed for securely and scalably tokenizing and managing real-world assets (RWAs). Its architecture is built around three main components: Arc, Smart Wallets, and Nexus, each supporting different aspects of asset tokenization, compliance, and data integration.
Arc functions as Plume’s tokenization engine, supporting the onboarding and management of physical and digital assets. It integrates compliance and data systems to maintain regulatory alignment and asset accuracy. This setup allows issuers to tokenize assets efficiently while incorporating automated compliance checks.
Smart Wallets provide embedded custody and compliance features, enabling users to interact with RWAs within decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. These wallets support yield-bearing instruments and customizable asset controls, helping unlock composability and financial functionality for otherwise static RWA holdings.
Nexus is a data integration layer that brings off-chain information onto the blockchain. Connecting to external sources enables real-time data use in DeFi applications such as lending protocols and prediction markets. Arc
Arc is Plume’s upcoming full-stack tokenization engine, designed to enable tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) creation and management. Scheduled for release in Q1 2025, Arc will be open-source under an MIT license and free to use. While still in development, developers will be able to self-host it. Issuers interested in early access can already join a waitlist.
Arc is structured around a modular app store model, allowing issuers to tailor the tokenization process based on the type of asset and regulatory needs. Available modules cover various functions, including compliance with U.S. securities laws, KYC (Know Your Counterparty) verification, and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) monitoring. It also supports infrastructure for onramps and offramps, enabling users to bring USD yield on-chain or cash out proceeds from on-chain sales.
Additional modules allow for primary offerings, secondary trading, and integrations with Alternative Trading Systems (ATS), expanding the reach of tokenized assets within regulated markets. The platform is designed to evolve, adding new applications and tools regularly. Plume Nexus is a blockchain-integrated data infrastructure that brings real-world data on-chain with improved efficiency and reliability. Nexus's real-time data integration capabilities address traditional issues such as latency and limited data availability. Developed with multiple Oracle providers, Nexus enables ingesting various data types from environmental to economic metrics into the Plume blockchain, supporting use cases beyond simple asset tokenization.
The system includes a full toolkit for developers, such as libraries, smart contracts, and containerized services, to simplify the process of publishing and accessing data on-chain. A key feature is its data-priority transaction model, which reserves block space for timely data updates. This approach ensures critical information is processed even during high network activity, while maintaining efficiency by reallocating unused space to other transactions when necessary.
Supported by partners like SEDA, Stork, Supra, and others, Nexus relies on a network of Oracles to deliver accurate and verified data streams. Passport
Plume Passport introduces a Smart Wallet designed to make real-world assets (RWAs) as composable and functional within DeFi as native crypto assets. Traditional RWA holdings are often static and siloed due to compliance and custody barriers, limiting their usability. Plume addresses this by embedding custody and regulatory compliance directly into the wallet infrastructure, removing the need for external providers while streamlining the user experience. This approach turns RWAs into usable, yield-generating assets that can participate in staking, collateralization, and more across DeFi.
The Smart Wallet is specifically built to manage the unique requirements of RWAs, which generate yield from real-world sources like real estate or infrastructure projects. Rather than relying on external contracts or service providers, Plume's wallets use modified Ethereum clients to integrate essential functions such as automated workflows, gasless transactions, and batch operations. This setup gives users full control over wallet extensions and DeFi interactions without compromising security or compliance. [6]
Plume USD (pUSD)
Plume USD (pUSD) is the native stablecoin of the Plume blockchain, designed to facilitate transactions and financial operations in the Real World Asset Finance (RWAfi) ecosystem. It is a payment, trading, and collateralization medium within Plume’s on-chain applications. It is fully backed and liquid and supports secure and efficient interaction with tokenized real-world assets.
The stablecoin is pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar and backed by reserves of established stablecoins like USDC and USDT, aiming to ensure liquidity and price stability. Plume USD is integrated across various Plume-based applications, enabling use cases such as yield generation from RWAs, lending and borrowing, trading, and access to decentralized financial protocols.
Users can mint Plume USD by bridging assets from Ethereum or other supported networks and depositing stablecoins. This process allows for easy issuance and redemption, with the ability to swap Plume USD back into the deposited stablecoins as needed. [7]
