Ansgar Dietrichs is a Berlin-based researcher and software engineer at the Ethereum Foundation, where he co-leads core protocol development for Layer 1 scaling. He is a prominent figure in the Ethereum research community, known for his work on key Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), account abstraction, and scaling solutions. [1] [2]
Ansgar Dietrichs completed his secondary education at Canisius-Kolleg Berlin, earning his Abitur in 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (2017) and a Bachelor of Science in Economics (2020) from Freie Universität Berlin. He later earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from Technische Universität Berlin in 2019. [1]
Ansgar Dietrichs is a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, where he has contributed to blockchain research since June 2022. Prior to this, he worked as an R&D Engineer at ConsenSys from October 2019 to May 2022, focusing on Ethereum core development. Earlier in his career, he served as a student assistant in the Machine Learning Group at Technische Universität Berlin (May 2017 – April 2019), conducting research in quantum chemistry and implementing machine learning models. Dietrichs has also held roles as a freelance back-end web developer at ABIHOME (June – November 2016) and as an intern at the German Federal Ministry of Finance (September – October 2015), where he supported research on international financial policy.
