David Wang

Education
David Wang received a Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics from the Berlin School of Economics and Law from 2013 to 2016. During this period, he served as Class Representative for WI13B. The degree was completed through the institution's Department of Cooperative Studies (Fachbereich Duales Studium).
In 2016, Wang studied East Asian and Chinese Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. [1]
Career
Early Career and Consulting
David Wang began his professional career in logistics, technology, and consulting. Between 2013 and 2016, he participated in a cooperative education program at Deutsche Post, completing assignments across different business areas. During this period, he also held internships and trainee positions with Daimler AG, Deutsche Bank, and DHL, working on projects related to logistics, e-commerce, and business operations in Germany and China, which served as a basis for later work with digital assets.
From 2016 to 2018, Wang worked at msg as a project manager, where he was involved in information technology implementation, project coordination, and digital transformation initiatives for clients in the insurance and financial services sectors.
Between 2018 and 2020, he worked at Deloitte Consulting within the Technology Strategy and Architecture practice. His responsibilities included technology strategy, digital transformation, and transaction-related advisory projects.
Advisory and Management Consulting
Since 2021, Wang has worked as an independent consultant and advisor on projects involving management consulting, private equity, and corporate transactions. During this period, he undertook assignments with firms including Horn & Company, Roland Berger, Kearney, Afinum Management, AURELIUS Group, Nova Ltd., SILREAL GmbH, Stern Stewart & Co., ZEISS Group, and Bain & Company.
His work has included projects related to mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, carve-outs, operating model design, digital transformation, program management, and transaction support.
In 2021, Wang founded Wang Advisory, a consulting firm based in Berlin. Through the firm, he has advised private equity funds and portfolio companies on operational, strategic, and transaction-related matters.
Entrepreneurship and Investments
From 2021 to 2023, Wang was co-founder of Penélope Agency, a company operating in the creator economy sector. The company was involved in content creation, influencer management, and direct-to-consumer products.
Wang has also participated in venture capital and startup investment activities. His involvement has included advisory and investor roles in early-stage companies, including HYGH AG.
OpenDeSci Foundation
In March 2025, Wang founded the OpenDeSci Foundation, an organization that applies artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and Web3-related tools to science education and research initiatives.
The foundation develops initiatives related to decentralized science (DeSci), including blockchain-based data management, research funding mechanisms, decentralized governance models, and smart contract applications for intellectual property administration.
